Welsh guitarist Adam Khan began his performing career at the age of 15 and has since gone on to perform around the world at prestigious venues and festivals including performances and radio/television broadcasts in Asia, North and South America, the Far East, Europe and Australasia. Adam was a prize winner in various international guitar competitions in Italy, USA and Romania. He has recorded several discs of solo and chamber music all of which have been critically acclaimed and frequently broadcast. Adam has performed with a variety of artists and orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Lima Symphony Strings, and Brunel Orchestra. He has a duo with violinist Michael Bochmann, and another with guitarist Luis Orias Diz as the Welsh-Argentine Guitar Duo.
After college, she moved to remote east Iceland to teach at a music school and became fascinated by the country. She then accepted a post in Abu Dhabi and later moved to Bristol. Clarissa is an active participant in the city’s diverse music scene, performing and recording with classical, rock, folk, jazz and circus artists.
As Duo Avona Clarissa and Adam explore repertoire from Schubert to Ravi Shankar to Stephen Goss. In 2018 they gave the UK premiere of Mitologia de las Aguas by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer. They are currently performing a programme of works by women composers featuring the music of Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, Chiqinha Gonzaga, Libby Larsen and Katherine Hoover.
